theCRUSH:: Keeping your enemies close in new ways!

17967_305812237436_168422092436_4490683_3297715_n

Classic Enemy Clothing is a clothing company founded in October 2009 with the focus of bringing a new attitude towards fashion. Though tattoo inspired clothing is nothing new to the world, Classic Enemy Clothing brings a whole new kind of artwork to the industry. The twisted images evolving and emerging from the brain of Jay Hebert have been getting prepared to head straight onto various forms of merchandise. Such concepts have already been generating a buzz throughout southeastern New Hampshire and northeastern Massachusetts. The line features some designs with an edgier, more aggressive feel, while others will bring a softer touch while holding true to the Classic Enemy Clothing theme. With an artwork approach such as that, the idea is to unite people with different views on fashion who might not otherwise realize that one brand can cover many different genres.

Inspiration for the artwork can be attested to various other clothing lines, many different tattoo styles and pieces, as well as general ideas of designs thought to look good on clothing. To a degree, inspiration for designs could also include various movies, musical artists, and artwork from different magazines. For the most part, inspiration for designs incorporates many ideas or themes from different places to create one intricate piece within the Classic Enemy Clothing theme.

Co-founders Jay Hebert and Mike Shuffleton plan to begin sales in early 2010 and will be available initially at various concerts throughout New England as well as some retail locations. However, items from the clothing line will also be available to purchase through contacting them through the Classic Enemy Clothing Myspace and Facebook pages until the online store is able to be completed and launched. The company’s calendar will be consistently updated with when and where they will be, in order to make it convenient for people to make purchases, or even just to come by and say hi.

With the marketing strategy that has been developed and being worked, the plan is to make Classic Enemy Clothing a well known clothing line available to the masses while still maintaining an affordable price tag. They believe people should be able to wear merchandise that looks and feels great without a ridiculous price. With the co-founders and supporters relentlessly promoting the products at many public events, their support and sponsorship of various people in different fields of entertainment, and ideas of how to keep people interested in what’s new, look for Classic Enemy Clothing to be a large part of the fashion industry in the near future.

theCRUSH:: – APRIL MUSIC – Craving Lucy

22576_248850932395_248830142395_3791381_1426020_n

Comprised of passionate vocal performances by Steve Archambault and the talents of guitarist and co-founding member Mark Fitzpatrick, along with bassist Nate Comp and drummer Justin Pacy, the music of Craving Lucy’s universal themes have broad appeal.

Archambault and Fitzpatrick came together in another musical venture and began writing together; developing a cohesive chemistry to compose what would eventually become the sound of Craving Lucy.

Soon, the duo assembled their own band, labeled it Bionic and released a successful four-song EP with Collective Soul producer, Anthony J. Resta. The EP soon found its way onto the airwaves of mainstream Providence, RI commercial rock station WHJY. The act solidified in 2009 after recruiting drummer Pacy and bassist Comp. With the new members’ musical influences and sensibilities, the combination was explosive. Within months, the band was playing sold-out venues opening for several high-profile acts. Within that same short period, Craving Lucy has secured major partnerships with industry veterans, inked a deal to become the flagship artist, chosen over hundreds of other nationally
known artists, with MyRMX a new technology allowing users to create their own custom ring mixes on cell phones, garnered radio interest both on internet and terrestrial making a spot for themselves as a Top 40 Indicator chart record and the only Debut New Artist on the Chart that week. Craving Lucy took the air waves by storm with receiving Airplay Action on Over 25 Active Rock Stations across the country. SiriusXM channel Octane lends major support to Craving Lucy’s hit “Therapy” with over 250 Spins, along with New Hampshire’s WGIR and WHEB On the topic of the band’s writing style, “It doesn’t have to be heavy,” says Archambault, “but we wanted stuff that had some punch.” As for Craving Lucy’s sound, the band refers to it as “graceful, yet fierce”.

“You won’t need a therapist to figure out this is a really good band! See, I just saved you $150! But seriously, when it comes to bands from Boston, I’ll always have a soft spot for Craving Lucy.” -Roxy Myzal, Hard Drive

International Fantasy Hair Competition comes to NH

Fantasy Hair Competition

On April 22, 2010, at 7:00pm, the Verizon Wireless Arena will overflow, inundated by piqued spectators and hairstylists from across the country in a glam dash for the top prize of $7,000! Not only will we see stylists representing New Hampshire, these devotees of coiffure will be flocking to Manchester from Michigan, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maine, Texas, Connecticut and beyond, seeking the ultimate venue to display their hairtistic abilities!  This revel of a runway show comes all trussed (or is that tressed?) up, with spotlights, beats and beautiful models, and every red-headed cent goes to help fund the Food Bank’s fight against hunger across New Hampshire.

Do you have your ticket yet? Special: While supplies last, buy 4 or more tickets through the Food Bank for just $25 each!  Email adalton@nhfoodbank.orgThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to claim yours today!

When you make your appearance at the arena on the eve of the show, you’re swept into the arena down to your seat (right on the floor if you’re a VIP ticket holder, so close those trusses might just tickle your nostrils), you’ll witness the tension, the mood of the pre-spectacle: the darkened stage, awaiting the amazing grace of immaculately conceived miracles of hair art.

When the clock strikes 7, it’s showtime; the lights turned way down low, music swelling to fill the air, and the models descending from the firmament to bless the catwalk.  Their towering trusses, elaborately constructed coifs, and looming locks will turn your view of gravity upside down, make you crane your neck so much you might get whiplash, and enthuse you to unfurl your own sails and set off for the Port of Call (the creative theme for this year’s show) each design pays homage to.

Our tenacious stylist contestants spend hundreds of hours and dollars to concoct, distill and refine their entries.  They swoop into the arena by 9 on the morning of the grand exhibition, and work frenziedly and hurriedly splitting hairs until their pieces become piece-de-resistances.  As you boggle at each entry and ogle the close-ups on the gigantic screens flanking the runway, you might find yourself particularly wrapped up in your favorite designs – maybe even literally, if you’re lucky – and pulling for your favorite ‘do to win (though I’m sure the models would prefer the pulling to remain figurative)!

After you’ve been brought back from the transcendent tresses by intermission, you’ll get shot to the moon by a rogue’s gallery of fabulousness once again as all of the models own the catwalk at once, one more time.  Here’s hoping you skipped the manicure, because you’ll be chewing on your nails as you await the judges’ final verdict, the tension of the stylists and models melding with your own as you await the MC’s announcement.  Then, the crescendo, the elation of the winners as they are announced, their triumph electric in the air, the jolt cascading through the judges, models, stylists, and you in the audience.  Of course it’s never just about the money; victory represents a vindication of the stylist’s artistry, verve, daring and talent.

Basking in the afterglow of the show, you’ll find your way across the street to the post-show party in Café on the Park (right inside the Radisson Hotel), where you’ll get to gawk at the designs at ground level, and express your awe at the aptitude and beauty firsthand.  Share a drink and a tale with a model and stylist; you might learn a thing or two about their struggles under the dim lights that wouldn’t be revealed in the floods.  It’ll be amazingly entertaining.
